Prideful Purchases
On the Town Green & beyond
It’s no secret that being a small business owner is especially challenging in today’s economic climate. Rather than simply asking the businesses that bring so much charm and character to our downtown to write a check, we wanted to create something that supports all of us together.
That idea became Prideful Purchase Day. By shopping, dining, and supporting participating local businesses, our community can help keep inclusive events and programs alive in Windsor while also supporting the small businesses that help make our town special. Participating businesses will be donating a portion of the day’s proceeds back to our event, turning everyday purchases into meaningful community support.
Below you will find our participating businesses.

ume Japanese restaurant
Project Name
Umé Japanese Bistro has been part of the Windsor community since 2005. As a family-run restaurant, shaped by generation of chefs over four decades in the industry, we focus on one simple thing done well --- serving fresh, thoughtfully prepared Japanese comfort food and creating a space where people feel at home. We are grateful to be part of Windsor’s everyday life and the connections that continue to bring people through that door.
